Purple Rose
Purple Rose
Chabu 茶布
I am pleased to introduce you to a true Parisian creation of mine. It is the first chabu that was born here, in the heart of Paris. Fabric came from a flea market and the rest is the alchemy of this place. What interesting purple shades. I was trying for years to create this colour and all that is needed is a Parisian vibe. It will be a great compliment to your meditative tea session.
Pigments imprint creates a captivating pattern. It looks like roses lying on the table. The elegant and stunning effect was achieved. Iron and Dian Hong leaves were wrapped into the rescued linen fabric and left for a week to create an imprint of pigments. Upon unwrapping the bundle such a stunning result was found. It looks slightly different on the back of the fabric and can be used on both sides. Pigmentation is colourfast but may gently fade with time and exposure to sunlight as well as tea drops will add to the existing pattern.
It is a very long runner for big tea servings. Only two of those were made and it won’t be restocked.
Size:
Width: 35 cm / 13,4 in
Length: 194 cm / 74,6 in
I love working with textiles and have adopted slow traditional methods of treating fabric and dyeing it with natural pigments that come from plants and metals. I aim to disrupt the ways Nature work as little as possible.
It can be hand-washed and ironed with cotton settings.
NOTE: The tea stage and the Teaware are not for sale.
