Yoga Nidra is an old Vedic technique that has found its way into modern neuroscience. It explores a space between the conscious (awake), subconscious (dreaming) and unconscious (deep sleep) states of mind, by anchoring awareness in what is called the superconscious state. It is combined with the sound of Himalayan Singing Bowls known for its soothing, calming and enveloping sensation.
Lingering in that state allows the mind to relax, integrate new material, improve memory, increase stress resistance, create new neuro-passages and open a gate for creativity. Other benefits are the release of muscular, emotional and mental tension, leading to deeper relaxation of the body with a therapeutical effect on psychosomatic diseases. It can also be used for deepening spiritual or intellectual potential.
During meditation, you will lay on the floor and let the body relax and absorb gentle sound waves from Singing Bowls and check in with every part of your body. Low frequency promotes cell recovery and tunes your brain into Alfa waves associated with a deep meditation state. It induces a physical, mental and emotional relaxation process.
